Rev. Gene Wood
Rev. Gene Wood joined our staff in March of 2008 as Minister of Discipleship and Family Ministries. Gene holds a B.A. in religion from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He describes his approach to his ministry here at FBCA in these words: "One of the primary tasks of God's kids is to look for and see where God is working and is calling us to join Him in what He is doing. It is with great joy that i believe God has called me to join Him in what He is doing in and through First Baptist Church of Andersonville at this time in the life of this church." He continues, "The desire of my heart is to see God glorified and people touched. I want to be a part of a Church that helps people become willing to agree with God. I want the lost and un-churched to see the truth about God and the truth about God's people as they live their life God's way each day. I really do believe that when Christ is lifted up, He will draw people to himself. We get to be a part of this. First Baptist, like all churches, is not all God wants it to be. The good news: the best is yet to come! It excites me to be a part of seeing His Church here on earth accomplish these godly goals: a) Exalt the Savior; b) Evangelize the sinners; c) Extend a Hand to the Stressed; d) Educate and Equip the Soldiers of the Cross; e) Encourage the Saints; and f) Engage in prayer with the Sovereign."
